非まじめのすすめ

いつの頃だろうか、知り合いなどと話をしている時、人は真面目と不真面目に分けるとしたら、「非真面目」を付け加えた方が良いかもしれないし、自分は非真面目な人間だと思う・・・そんな話をしたことがある。今もその考えは変わっていない。本日の内容は少し変わった話になるかもしれません。

実は、「非まじめのすすめ」という本もあるらしいことを最近知った。アマゾンで調べれば似たようなタイトルの本が数冊出てくる。

かたやまが「非真面目」だというのは決して不真面目だという意味ではなく、真面目すぎると窮屈だし不真面目だと人が相手にしてくれなくと思うからで、いつの間にか使っていた気がする。

一般的には「非」は英語の「NOT」という意味で、その下に続く言葉を打ち消す否定の接続語だと思われていますが、本来の意味はそうではありません。「非」は「超越」という意味で、仏典にはよく出ているそうです。語源的には、鳥や昆虫の左右の羽を象（かたち）どったものだと言われています。なるほど、空を飛ぶというのは昔の人間にとっては非常識ですし、すなわち、常識を越えたことだったのです。

真面目なことは悪い事ではないのですが、社会に目を向けますと、日本経済などは成熟期を迎えていて「さらなる成長」を夢見ている方も多く、疲れきって「過労死」などは減らないし、環境問題にしても「自然保護も大事だし、豊かで便利な生活も捨てられない」と多くの人が思っていた節があったけど、最近ではコロナ騒動で少し流れが変わってきていると思う。

オートキャンプなどブームは、それこそ「非まじめ」な人達が増えてきているのではないのかなっと思える。キャンプ場から仕事に行く人もいるぐらいですからね。

以前学校のテストで、「雪が溶けたら何になる」？の問いに、「雪が溶けたら春になる」と答えた小学生がいたという。まさにこの発想が、真面目でもないし不真面目でもない。テストの点数にはならないかもしれないけど、拍手を送りたい。テストの珍回答という本の中に、「厳か」をなんと読みますかという問題に、福岡県の中学生は「きびしか」と答えた。「彼女はアンザンが得意です」という漢字のテストに愛知県の中学生は「安産」と書いたそうで、いずれもバツだった。「たとえ～しても」という短文を作りなさいの問いに、茨城県の中学生は「たとえトイレに行ったとしても手を洗わない」と答え、これはマルをもらった。

正解、不正解は別にして、この「非まじめ」な生徒達の感性にきっと先生たちもクスッと笑って側にいた同僚も明るくなったんじゃないかと思う。

今の時代は、難問の方が多いと思うし、くそまじめに生きていると、精神に異常きたすかもしれないので「非まじめ」に生きることをおすすめしたいと思います。
